The admission process begins with an inquiry by the parents regarding the program. A brochure, including a program overview and logistical information such as cost etc., can be sent to the parents following the inquiry.

Parents interested in pursuing the Academy further can then attend an informational meeting about the school. This meeting is designed to give the parents a good understanding of the school, its philosophy and methodology. Each meeting is led by the director and includes a question and answer session, along with a tour of the school. For convenience to the prospective parents, these meetings are offered twice each month with one being held in the morning and one in the evening.

After each of these introductory meetings, parents in attendance receive a follow-up letter giving them the opportunity to set an appointment to meet with the director. During this individual meeting, parents are free to discuss personal needs for their child and address any specific questions or concerns they may have. In addition, this meeting also allows the director the opportunity to meet the family and access the need of the child(ren) to determine the type of placement that would allow the child(ren) to be most successful. At that time, the director will also determine if additional information may be necessary in evaluating the placement of the child[ren]. This may include a discussion with previous teachers, further assessment or input from a therapist, psychologist, doctors, etc.
